Payment Solutions Representative (Collector)

We are currently seeking a candidate with collections experience and strong people skills to fill a full-time position in our Payment Solutions Department located at 8871 Gorman Road, Laurel, MD.

Base Pay Range: $16.52 - $24.77 per hour (nonexempt grade 6)

Job Description Highlights:
• Collect on past due loans and credit cards to control delinquency by obtaining payments and promises to make payments. Follow-up on promises to pay.
• Skip tracing.
• File life, disability, involuntary unemployment, GAP, and Collateral Protection claims and post claim payments.
• File GAP and MRC claims on Indirect Loans.
• Answer member inbound calls and respond to requests & concerns.
• Match products & services to members’ needs including possible debt restructuring and loan extensions. Have knowledge of features & benefits of our products/services to cross sell ones that would assist members you are working with.
• Assist members with improving their credit scores.
• In manager’s absence, handle repossessions and bankruptcy filings.

Position Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School or High School equivalency diploma
• Two years of collections experience, preferably at a financial institution

• Possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to help members improve their financial lives and relieve financial stress.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and the Internet; general knowledge of standard office equipment which includes but is not limited to fax machine; copier/scanner; printer; and calculator.
• Ability to organize/prioritize work and manage time to complete assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Applicants will be required to submit to a background check, credit report review, and pre-employment skill testing.

Schedule:
Monday – Friday 8.5 hour work days with 45 min for lunch; start time may be flexible between 8:00 to 10:00 am
