The role of the Marketing/Business Development Coordinator is instrumental to our Credit Union. This individual will assist in all essential functions of the Marketing Department, including business development, public relations and social media.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining and growing member loyalty through brand advocacy, community outreach, and public relations.
Be a visible presence in the community. Promote the Credit Union through participation in business, community and charitable activities.

Work with branch staff and representatives of membership groups to sponsor events, seminars, presentations and on-site activities that introduce the Credit Union to potential members.

Prospects for new members and select groups and seeks opportunities to increase relationships with existing ones. Conducts sales calls, follows-up on leads, and maintains strong relations with occupational groups through verbal, written, and digital communication channels.

Develops and implements training, promotions and advertising programs that further marketing objectives.

Conducts market research to determine members’ needs and views on products/services and satisfaction levels. Develops, organizes and analyzes member surveys and focus groups. Determines costs and needed resources for said surveys and focus groups.

Administers the Credit Union’s social media accounts. Provides insight and support in expanding the Credit Union’s digital presence. Uses creative means to plan, organize and implement a range of social media programs and/or events. Monitors ads, reviews and posts to effectively communicate with members and maintain a positive online reputation.

Conducts market research and develops marketing strategies to complement and support Credit Union goals and strategic objectives. Understands the initiatives and goals of the Credit Union to effectively position marketing and communication campaigns to attain our strategic endeavors.

Plans and implements effective Credit Union and public relations events, including creating of communications materials, on-site and pre-event promotion, post event follow-up, and metrics reporting.

Identify any potential impediments to the business development process and autonomously solve or escalate to senior leaders for help as necessary.

Maintains regular and punctual attendance. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime with little advance notice. Must have reliable transportation for external business development activities. Must be available weekends, evenings and nights for business development activities, as needed.

Education/Certification Requirements:
Degree in Marketing, Communications or related study preferred. Appropriately related experience may be substituted for education. 1+ years writing for social media platforms. Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud; must be able to edit pdfs. Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Publisher and Power Point and Photoshop or other design programs. Experience with paid ads and digital marketing. Strong writing, grammar skills, copywriting and proofing skills. Experience with search engine optimization (SEO), how to rank search terms, strong Google experience is preferred. Strong member service mentality as you will also be interacting with our members. Ability to communicate well with different departments to ensure all relevant efforts are incorporated into marketing goals. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Knowledge of the financial industry is a plus.
