Accounting Manager

Members First Credit Union
This position is responsible for the management of the accounting and finance department at MFCU. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Demonstrate knowledge of NCUA rules and regulations.
Prepare Bank reconciliation
Prepare and post Journal Entries
Prepare quarterly 5300 report
Prepare month end closing and monthly financial statement
Strong oral and written communication skills
Participate in Determining the Strategy of the credit union
Process payroll.
Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts and resolve any issues.
Complete all investment accounting entries
Perform other related duties as required.

  • Education and Experience: 

    Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance and 2-4 years of accounting or finance required
    At least two years of credit union experience.
    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    Strong analytical, detail oriented, organization and time management skills.
    Must be able to exercise confidentiality and discretionary judgement

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

Knowledge of NCUA rule and regulation.
Strong analytical, detail oriented, organization and management skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with board and Staff.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Must be proficient with windows based PC’s and Microsoft Office Suite.
