This entry level compliance position will be responsible for assisting in the compliance of all operations

General Description
In accordance with established policies and procedures, this entry level compliance position will be responsible for assisting in the compliance of all operations, communication, documentation, operational systems and service administration of the United States Senate Federal Credit Union in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, National Credit Union Administration regulation, Credit Union bylaws and charter.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Supports the daily activities of compliance-related duties including but not limited to reviewing daily reports and monitoring Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and fraud alerts.
2. Maintains the BSA/AML software and integrates its use throughout various departments.
3. Reviews and understands regulatory materials, announcements and related periodicals and publications on an ongoing basis and works with the Compliance Officer to ensure appropriate and timely measures are taken to implement legal or regulatory changes which may affect policy or procedure.
4. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of all Credit Union products, services, policies and procedures.
5. Supports the Compliance Officer in fostering and sustaining positive professional partnerships with regulatory authorities, legal counsel, informational associations and service vendors authorized to represent the Credit Union's regulatory, legal and ethical interests. Attends regulatory compliance roundtables and participates in compliance listserv to stay up to date on regulatory changes.
6. Provides informed regulatory and compliance information and awareness to staff (and Credit Union members when necessary) through positive, proactive communication, education programs and materials.
7. Maintains clear compliance records for compliance and litigation.
8. Supports the Credit Union’s Bank Secrecy Act Program in accordance with Credit Union policy, applicable regulations and BSA related guidance.
9. Works in coordination with the Compliance Officer to conduct audits of Credit Union operations and practices (including lending, general operations and marketing) for compliance with applicable laws and regulations, ensuring that each area and operation is evaluated as to its overall state of compliance.
10. Complies with all applicable rules, regulations and statutes to include but not limited to the Credit Union’s bylaws, Code of Conduct, Employee Guidebook, Bank Secrecy/Anti-Money Laundering Act, Fair Housing Act, Fair Lending Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: Five (5) years of general office experience considered in lieu of bachelor’ degree. Financial institution experience preferred. Working knowledge of financial institution compliance regulations is preferred.

Skills: Exceptional research and technical writing skills. Ability to interpret regulatory requirements as they apply to all areas of the Credit Union and create appropriate policies, procedures and training materials. Exceptional level of attention to detail.

Communication: Exceptional communication skills (written & verbal) required. Ability to work with a variety of staff, managers and vendors.
