We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to support the CFO with financial management and processing

The Prince George's Community Federal Credit Union is seeking a professional with general accounting or credit union experience and training to provide support to the CFO and other accounting department positions in the areas of processing, reconciling, reporting, compliance and maintenance. This role will primarily be responsible for processing and approving remote check deposits for payment and fraud prevention; but will be backup to the electronic, ACH processing and A/P/R roles; and will take on delegated accounting duties under the direction and supervision of the CFO.

Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Process and approve remote check deposits for payment; fraud prevention
• Process and track checks, rejected member deposits, stop-payments and check copies
• As a support to the electronic processing specialist, perform ACH and exception processing, share draft and returns processing and foreign/domestic wire requests as needed
• As a support to the plastic card specialist, perform card maintenance, card and pin requests, card stock inventory, lost/stolen/compromised card blocks and investigations; fraud claims, account disputes and insurance claims
• As a support the accounting specialist, perform general ledger reconciliation, including research and resolution of variances, prepare and post journal entries, and perform account payables and receivables
• Process branch cash shipment orders and foreign cash orders for members
• Set up and maintain prepaid and fixed asset subsidiary accounts
• Assist in quarterly reporting to third parties
• Participate in internal and external audits
• Complete special projects as assigned

Job Requirements include:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; AA in accounting or college level accounting courses preferred
• Minimum 3 years previous accounting, electronic processing and/or credit union experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel required
• Be able to work proficiently in a fast-paced environment with ever-changing priorities and deadlines; work well independently and as part of a team, prioritizing work and completing assignments on time; possess strong analytical and organizational skills; and be detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
