Performs a variety of high level clerical and administrative support tasks when reviewing loan documents in preparation for closing and the funding of mortgage (conventional and/or FHA) and home equity loans

The Funder/Closer, under minimal supervision, performs a variety of high level clerical and administrative support tasks when reviewing loan documents in preparation for closing and the funding of mortgage (conventional and/or FHA) and home equity loans. Knowledge and understanding of state and federal regulation and department procedures on mortgage closing processes.

Attention to detail when confirming that the appropriate documents are assembled in the loan files for proper vesting, legal description, closing dates and signatures. Accurately enters residential loan data into credit union's computer system with appropriate updating. Prepare closing documents and instructions; review final Closing Disclosure for accuracy and regulatory compliance. Review loan documentation for compliance with Agency and Credit Union.

Policies and Procedures; assure all underwriting conditions have been met and signed off. Review title binders for accuracy and outstanding liens, and homeowners’ insurance policies for adequate coverage and proof of payment.

Ability to cross train in other aspects of mortgage pre and post-closing lending processes. Accurately answers questions from members and staff on real estate loan products and interest rates.

REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's Degree from a two-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and mortgage experience required.
Minimum of three (3) years Conventional and FHA Mortgage Lending experience required.
Knowledge of Regulatory Guidelines regarding the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Demonstrated mathematical and analytical skills a must.
Proficient in computer applications with accurate typing and filing skills.
Must be a self-starter with strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing work situations.
Basic knowledge of fundamentals of mortgage servicing required.
Positive attitude and team-oriented.
Knowledge of FNMA guidelines and requirements, inclusive of FNMA DU.
