The Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced Training Specialist to guide our team’s professional development and advance the strategic growth of the Credit Union.
Under general supervision, but following established policies and procedures, the Training Specialist enhances the competencies of individual employees by analyzing, identifying, coordinating, designing and implementing training programs that will improve workplace performance and advance the strategic direction of the credit union.
This is a full-time position (Monday thru Friday). The ideal candidate will have the flexibility to work additional hours as needed for training or supporting occasional community events, must consistently uphold the mission, vision, and core values of the credit union, and possess the ability to cope in a team focused, fast-paced sales and service culture.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• In consultation with executive management and supervisors, assesses the credit union’s and individual employees’ professional development and training needs
• Develops and delivers training programs for the various job disciplines across the credit union by creating training tools, utilizing available learning platforms or, when necessary, evaluating, contracting and implementing outsourced programs, vendors or products to augment internal training initiatives
• Assess the effectiveness of training to ensure skill or knowledge development
• Maintains current knowledge of training methods, industry standards and best practices for delivering training using methods that are effective and content that is relevant to the credit union’s strategic direction
• Continually evaluates training progress and procedures to monitor and analyze program effectiveness and updates curriculum as needed
• Develops and maintains current and relevant educational support materials and procedural manuals or other documentation to be used in conjunction with training programs as well as for reference and review as needed for reinforcement
• Conducts standard orientation training for all new hires and job role training for new tellers and member service representatives
• Coordinates monthly staff meeting
• Conducts orientation for all employees on new products, procedures or policies
• Administers the implementation of the training programs within the learning management system, monitors training progress and facilitates all communication relevant to training
• In cooperation with supervisors, assists the Human Resources Manager in regular evaluation of the credit union’s training program
• Attends external classes for training professionals to maintain current qualifications
• Remains cognizant of and compliant with the credit union’s policies and procedures as relevant to the role of the training specialist
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager, Chief Operations Officer, Chief Executive Officer or other designee

BACKGROUND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or instructional development/design certification required; or associates degree with 3-5 years demonstrated relevant experience
• Two to three years’ experience in banking, credit unions, consumer and/or mortgage lending preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency with current and emerging design and presentation applications, learning management systems, various audio or visual equipment, common computer productivity software
• Must be bondable and able to pass a criminal background and credit check.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Requires basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
