Job Description:

Highlights from the job description include:

  • Develops, recommends, and implements a marketing strategy for acquiring new members and deepening existing relationships in order to achieve Credit Union goals.
  • Directs the market research function to provide member behavior insights and develop marketing strategies based on member needs and preferences.
  • Develops and directs the execution of programs to acquire new Credit Union members by adding new Select Employee Groups (SEGs) into the Credit Union’s field of membership and acquiring new members from enrolled SEGs.
  • Manages marketing communications to ensure that the Credit Union’s brand and image are effectively presented in all marketing materials, media, and public relations initiatives.
  • Ensures optimal performance of staff by effectively supervising and leading personnel.
  • Provides professional, prompt, and courteous service to members and Credit Union staff.
  • Remains current on regulations that affect marketing, ensuring marketing pieces, disclosures, and web site are technically and legally compliant.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, about 35 hours per week. The work schedule is generally Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.  Responsibilities may occasionally require an adjusted work schedule, working from another branch, working before and/or after business hours, working on Saturdays, and working hours exceeding the standard work schedule. 

Work Site & Travel

All applicants must be willing and able to work at and travel between all branches (in Towson and Perry Hall, MD) on an as needed basis. Periodic local travel to attend meetings, manage events, or attend training is required.

Job Requirements:

This position requires an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.  Experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.    Three years of experience in marketing, public relations, or similar field, preferably in a financial institution, is preferred.  One year of supervisory experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the features and benefits of products and services typically offered by financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of market research methodologies, statistical analysis, and research design, including survey design and software.
  • Knowledge regarding laws, rules, regulations and procedures impacting credit union advertising and marketing activities.
  • Knowledge of the development of advertising campaigns applied to print, web, and social media mediums.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others; demonstrate courtesy, empathy, and politeness.
  • Ability to plan and organize work and effectively manage time in order to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Licenses, Certificates, & Other Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment credit check and criminal background check as a condition of employment.
  • Proof of driver’s license and auto insurance coverage on the vehicle used must be provided following a conditional offer of employment.
