The Loan Specialist II performs a variety of clerical and technical tasks to assist in the funding of approved loan applications.

PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Loan Specialist II performs a variety of clerical and technical tasks to assist in the funding of approved loan applications. Respond to members’ questions about Andrews Federal’s lending policies, interest rates and terms. Review and coordinate underwriting instructions, making corrections as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitor all approved loans for completeness and ensure timely disbursement of funds.
• Perform loan-processing tasks for underwriting to include debt ratio calculations, income verification and loan payment computation.
• Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Andrews’ loan types, interest rates, policies and procedures and maintains a good working knowledge of credit union’s products and services which includes ancillary services. 
• Respond to members’ telephone calls and correspondences. 
• Balance terminals and branch daily.
• Remain cognizant of and adhere to Andrews Federal policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act and various Lending Regulations.
• Attend work regularly and according to work schedule; limit absences according to personnel policies regarding leave usage.
• Interact with co-workers, supervisors, members, and outside contacts in an appropriate, professional manner which projects a positive image of the department and Andrews Federal
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed.

EDUCATION
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

LENGTH OF REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• 1 – 2 years
• Requires one year experience with a Financial Institution. 
• Excellent customer service skills. 
• Ability to utilize several software applications at once while dealing with members on the phone in a fast paced environment. 
• Candidate must possess a high math aptitude. 
• PC experience in a windows environment and the ability to operate a 10-key calculator. 
• Possess excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• The ability to sit for extended periods of time and to utilize a telephone, computer, keyboard and copier/printer.
• Moderate noise level in a fast paced open office environment with light traffic.
