The SBA & Commercial Loan Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight of all loan operations; servicing, administrative management and loan origination.

DESCRIPTION
The SBA & Commercial Loan Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight of all loan operations; servicing, administrative management and loan origination. This includes managing and coordinating the daily functions of the Commercial Loan Servicing and Business Banking Department. This will also include loan documentation, booking, Chang-in-terms, reconciliations, collateral review, payment processing, collateral liquidation and collection, member support, file maintenance and retention. In short, will oversee the entire life cycle of the loan.


This position will be responsible for initiatives to reduce operational risk and expense, increase efficiency and streamline process origination and servicing processes. Furthermore, this position will also ensure that the department is in compliance with all policies and procedures and monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
This position requires comprehensive knowledge of all Commercial & SBA standard operating procedures, credit policies, NCUA guidelines and eligibility requirements. In addition, will oversee servicing activity related to loan participation, monthly reporting, SBA 7(a) and USDA and Conventional financing.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establishes a performance plan for up to 3 full-time employees that include specific tasks, objectives, training and evaluation. This will ensure the department is effectively meeting all budget, time constraints and quality control standards for both loan servicing and origination.
• Will supervise the Commercial Loan Servicing Manager, and work closely with Credit Review, Risk, and the origination team to ensure that all tasks are being completed on a timely and accurate basis.
• Responsible for the overall delivery of the member experience from loan origination, credit review to post-closing. Ensure that each employee is providing a consistently high-quality experience; to both internal and external members that is in alignment with our service expectations and core values.
• Performs quality control reviews to ensure all loans are booked in accordance existing policies, procedures, terms and conditions. This includes loan documentation to include any modifications, exceptions and amendments to assess loan quality. Conducts pre-closing and post-closing audits.
• Oversee and ensure accuracy of the monthly SBA 1502 reporting required by the Small Business Administration. Provides oversight for Loan Service Provider relationship with Strategic Business Services.
• Participates and manages the implementation and maintenance of the new commercial loan servicing software; when applicable and ensure a smooth transition to the new servicing system.
• Ensures the timely and adequate reporting for all past due loans. Oversees loan liquidation and guaranty processing of claims to the SBA and USDA guaranty center.
• Have a working knowledge to understand and interpret information from loan documents into the Commercial Servicing system (FICS Commercial Servicer) and insure accurate information regarding terms of loans, loan rate options, re-pricings, advances, etc. is represented properly on the loan servicing system.
• Works in conjunction with Risk, Finance and Loan Liquidation to ensure appropriate RR are in place and Loan Loss Reserves are accurate. Reports directly to the Vice President of Commercial & SBA Lending and assists on strategic objects that will further develop the Business Banking Department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises up to 3 employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Credit Union’s policies and applicable laws and the departments overall objectives. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in business or finance is desired; but not required.
• This individual will have at least 5 years of minimum experience with commercial loan servicing, operations, audit, liquidation and origination.
• Knowledge of laws and regulations governing business and consumer loan servicing practices as well as collection practices.
• Knowledge of business and financial analysis, and the ability to analyze information to make sound loan decisions.
• Proficiency in commercial credit facilities such: lines of credit, term loans and commercial real estate mortgages, loan underwriting and credit analysis, preparation of credit memorandums, and knowledge of commercial loan documentation and collateral.
• Excellent problem solving ability; ability to prioritize, organize time and to work independently. In addition, have excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. This role also requires the ability to stand/sit for extended periods of time.
