The evening event was an opportunity for face-to-face discussions with the 30 state legislators who attended. Maryland Commissioner of Financial Regulation Tony Salazar delivered remarks and encouraged credit unions to continue to engage directly with his office. Legislators are about one-third of the way through the 90-day General Assembly session. There was much discussion during the reception about several bills impacting credit unions, including one to strengthen data breach notification standards and a bill to allow credit unions to accept public funds. View the photo gallery here.
