Maryland Moves to Stage 3 Reopening Friday

Governor Larry Hogan announced on Tuesday that Maryland will move into the third and final phase of reopening at 5 pm on September 4.

Stage 3 MDIn time for the Labor Day weekend, all businesses will be allowed to reopen, including movie theaters and live entertainment venues with capacity restrictions. Retailers can increase capacity to 75 percent from 50 percent. Hogan said local jurisdictions can continue to make their own decisions about when to ease restrictions.

Mask wearing and social distancing mandates still apply to all persons over 5 years old when indoors, and when outdoors where it is not possible to maintain a distance of six feet or more from other people.

Virginia entered Phase Three of its reopening plan in early July, while DC and Delaware remain in Phase Two.
