Attorneys General Send Letter to DOJ Regarding Website Accessibility

19 state attorneys general have sent a letter to the Department of Justice seeking clarification on website compliance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).

DC’s attorney general, Karl Racine, signed the letter requesting a proposed rule to provide exact standards for web accessibility. The letter points out that the ADA does not provide clear guidance, which has led to unnecessary lawsuits in an effort to exploit the law’s ambiguity for financial gain with little or no corresponding benefit to consumers.
