2019 Emerging Leader Award Winner has “Amazing” Opportunity for Networking and Career Development

Educational Systems FCU’s Antionette Morton attended CUNA’s Emerging Leader Institute held last month in San Diego.

Antionette Emerg Leader InstShe attended on a scholarship provided by CUNA, one part a professional development package Morton won when selected as the 2019 Miriam Rivera Lieb Emerging Leader which is sponsored by the MD|DC Credit Union Association.

CUNA's Emerging Leader Institute is designed to help credit union leaders develop effective management techniques to create a foundation for a more fulfilling, impactful career.

“CUNA’s Emerging Leader Institute training was absolutely amazing,” said Antionette Morton, 2019 Emerging Leader. “I walked away with a number of different takeaways regarding my leadership style, how to hold my team more accountable, how to grow myself as a leader, and an expanded network of colleagues and peers that I can turn to for help. I appreciate this opportunity and am honored to be the 2019 Miriam Rivera Lieb Emerging Leader.”

Morton is an Accounting Manager for Educational Systems FCU based in Greenbelt, Maryland. She was named the 2019 Miriam Rivera Lieb Emerging Award winner in June. Look for details later this month on entering the 2020 competition.

The award honors the legacy of Miriam Rivera Lieb who was a dedicated advocate and leader in the credit union movement and recognizes a credit union professional, 40 or under, who shares Lieb’s dedication to the core principles of credit unions and demonstrates the potential to be a leader.
