Voting open for 2019 Credit Union Hero of the Year Award

Credit Union Magazine is excited to announce the four finalists for the 2019 Credit Union Hero of the Year award.

A credit union hero is someone who best personifies credit union philosophy and ideals, shows dedication to credit union principles, and makes a difference in their community.

The finalists are:
Cherry Dale, financial education director, Virginia CU, Richmond, Va.;
Harlene Johnson, president, Light Commerce CU, Houston;
Diane Sandoval-Griego, financial empowerment and outreach manager, Guadalupe CU, Santa Fe, N.M.; and
Bridget Staffileno, vice president community affairs, Catholic FCU, Saginaw, Mich.

“The credit union movement is filled with superheroes, and we are in awe of all the amazing submissions received over the past two months,” says Ann Hayes Peterson, vice president of publishing at CUNA and editor-in-chief of Credit Union Magazine. “These four individuals truly live the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people’ and are making an enormous impact in their communities. We’re thrilled to be able to showcase them to the rest of the movement.”

Voting is now open to select one of these individuals as the 2019 Credit Union Hero of the Year. The voting deadline is March 22, 2019.
The winner will be recognized during America’s Credit Union Conference, June 17-20 at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
